UM Arabic Debate Team’s Achievement in UII Yogyakarta

The Arabic Debate Team Universitas Negeri Malang successfully won Unisi Arabic Debating Championship (UADC) 2018 in UII Yogyakarta as the third winner. As the representative of UM, the team competed with 24 other teams from different universities from Indonesia and other countries, such as UM, UIN Sunan Kalijaga , UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, USIM Malaysia, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, IAIN Jember, IDIA Sumenep, UAI ,UMM, UNS, Dalwa Pasuruan, UMY, STAI An-Nawawi, UMS, and IAIN Padang Sidempuan.

There were two teams from UM: Team A and Team B. The members were Amami Sofia AlQorin, Ilham Fatkhu Romadon, Al-Rizal Tisma Wahid M, Nuriyatul Hidayah, Fakhrur Rozi and Moh. Rozy Zamroni accompanied by Irman Ni’am, S.Pd., as the supervisor. Both teams were in Yogyakarta since 27 February to the Final Day on the 1st March 2018.

In the knockout stage, UM team met a team from the University of Science of Islam Malaysia (USIM). They had very fierce debate in which UM team eventually came out as the winner and advanced to the next round.

Rozi said in the end of interview, “We are very grateful to be the third winner. We hope that UM always support the debate team to pursue more achievements.”
