Using world’s largest and most complex scientific instrument in the world, physicist and engineer at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Studying the basic constituents of matter, physicist had a clue on how particle interact and provide insight on fundamental law of nature. CERN invites international students to join CERN openlab summer program, a nine weeks program across June until August 2019. In this program, students will work on advanced IT project and get a series of IT lectures prepared by expert at CERN and other institutes. If they wish, student also get the opportunity to attend CERN main student programme lectures. Visiting the accelerators, experimental areas, and external companies also become a part of this programme.

  • Bachelor or Master student with strong computing profile and will completed at summer 2019 (at least three years full-time studies on university level)
  • Remain as a student during your stay at CERN. You are still eligible to apply if you are expected to graduate during European summer 2019 (as of May)
  • Have not worked at CERN for more than 3 months
  • Have a good knowledge of English, knowledge on French would be an advantage
  • Receiving applicants from all nationalities
