Rotary peace fellowship is the premier academic scholarship that The Rotary Foundation offers. Through this program, the fellows will develop the skill they need to become leaders and catalysts for peace and conflict resolution in their communities and around the world. For the 2019-2020, The Rotary Foundation offers two types of fellowships:

1.    Master’s degree program

2.    Professional development certificate program


Important dates:

1.    Last day to email Rotary Peace Center staff for any kind of help at 15 May

2.    Deadline for document submission to Rotary district: 31 May

3.    Deadline for Rotary district to submit applicants’ documents to The Rotary Foundation: 1 July

4.    Deadline to submit TOEFL, IELTS, or GRE exam results: 1 September

5.    Application selection results: November 2018


Details about Master’s Degree Program

1.    Purpose: to build the future leaders

2.    Length of study: 15-24 months (varies by university)

3.    Number of Rotary Peace Centers: 5 (accessible at

4.    Number of fellowships available: max. 50 (up to 10 per Rotary Peace Center)

5.    Applied field experience: 2-3 months of internship during academic break


Details about Professional Development Certificate Program

1.    Purpose: to strengthen the leaders of today

2.    Length of study: 3 months

3.    Number of Rotary Peace Centers: 1 (accessible at

4.    Number of fellowships available: max. 50 (up to 25 per session: January-April or June-August)

5.    Applied field experience: 2-3 weeks of field study incorporated into curriculum



1.    For master’s degree fellows, the foundation covers tuition, room and board, travels to and from Peace Center, internship experiences, conferences, and research expenses.

2.    For professional certificate program, the foundation covers tuition, on-campus accommodation, course materials, insurance, travels to and from Peace center, and field study experiences expenses.
