International Students Summit 2016 Participants for Community Empowerment
Three students from Universitas Negeri Malang will compete on International Students Summit (ISS) on November 7, 2016. Shadi Alhaleh (KNB awardee from Palestine), Omary Hemedi Makore (KNB Awardee from Tanzania), and Rajaonarison Handry Ramoizana (Darmasiswa Awardee from Madagascar) are selected as the university representatives in attending the above mentioned annual event managed by Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. Abdulloh Kasor, the Former President of ISS is also arranged to attend that four-day event.
Having theme “The Role of Youth to be Agent of Change for Community Empowerment”, three competitions are offered to the participative universities: Indonesian speech, English speech, and Poster. The event is divided into six sessions: International Seminar, Competitions, Small Group Discussion entitled with “The Champions”, Cultural Classes, City Tour, and Dinner Reception.
Choosing the Capital of East Java Province, this event located at Haris Hotel and Convention, Jl. Bangka No. 8-18, Gubeng, Surabaya The mayor of Surabaya, Dr. (H.C.) Ir. Tri Rismaharini, M.T., Rector of Airlangga University, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., Mt., Ak., CMA, representative of World Bank, and representative of the United States Consulate General of Surabaya (etc.) will participate as the keynote speakers for this event.
On the previous year, Mar Pang Nang Sar (KNB awardee from Myanmar), Abdulloh Kasor, and Rachan Jaengsri (both are KNB Awardee from Thailand) are selected as the representatives of Universitas Negeri Malang for this International event in which Abdulloh Kasor was getting an achievement by elected as the President of ISS 2015-2016.
