Malang – Following the MoU Signing between Universitas Negeri Malang and National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation (ANAAA), East Timor, last month, the delegates from Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) conducted a visit to ANAAA, four East Timor universities consisting of National University of Timor Leste (UNTL), Institute of Business (IOB), Institute Superior Cristal (ISC), and Universidade Dili (UNDIL), and a vocational high school on 29 September – 3 October 2019. The aim of the visit is to discuss a number of joint activities with ANAAA and the afore mentioned education institutions.

On 1 October 2019, the delegates had a meeting with the Director-General of Higher Education of the Timor Leste Ministry of Higher Education, Representatives from the Ministry of Human Resources, Professional Associations, ANAAA President, ANAAA Secretary, ANAAA Executive Director and ANAAA Board Member at National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation (ANAAA). This meeting was focused on discussing the plan for capacity building programme with ANAAA involving representatives of each university in East Timor.

The trip then continued to the National University of Timor Leste (UNTL), Institute of Business (IOB), Institute Superior Cristal (ISC), and Universidade Dili (UNDIL) to explore potential cooperation and initiating an MoU.

Finally, the last trip was a visit to Eskola Teknika Informátika (ETI) Dili to discuss an MoU on teacher capacity building on teaching and learning activities. This collaboration with East Timor is important for UM to open up opportunities for lecturers in UM to be guest lecturers, create international community service programs, and this cooperation also be a market for degree programs in UM.
