To celebrating Indonesia’s Independence Day, Indonesian Day held a special event that not only enlivened the atmosphere, but also introduced the charm of traditional competitions to international students. The event, held on September 29, 2023, successfully created a strong bond between students from different countries.

The event featured four lively traditional games, including marbles relay, sarong, and bakiyak. The participants, the majority of whom were international students, enthusiastically participated in each competition while enjoying the warm nuances of Indonesian culture.

One of the interesting moments was the marbles relay competition, which was full of skill and agility. International students were seen seriously putting marbles into spoons and racing to pass the marbles to teammates quickly and precisely.

No less exciting, the sarong competition became a special attraction. The participants vigorously competed in spreading the sarong, creating laughter and fun around the venue.

The event also featured a bakiyak competition, where participants had to cross an obstacle course wearing bakiyak. Laughing and cheering, the international students seemed to enjoy this new experience.

At the end of the event, the three teams with the most points were announced as the winners and entitled to attractive prizes in recognition of their participation. These prizes are a testament to the committee’s appreciation of the passion and dedication of the international students.

Through this fun-filled activity, it is hoped to strengthen the bonds and relationships between international students. Indonesian Day is not only a celebration of Indonesia’s independence, but also an event that unites various cultures through fun and the spirit of healthy competition.
