Malang – The first day of UM iCamp (16/8) has reached the last session, the Gala Dinner. In this session Office of International Affairs invited all of UM iCamp 2019 participants and committees to have a Gala Dinner which also to annunciate Opening Ceremony. This Gala Dinner was support by BNI and attended by sponsorship partners as well. This Gala Dinner and Opening Ceremony was also attended by UM’s Officials, and KNB Students. To jollify this night agenda, there were series of entertainments performed by some Students Extracurricular Club, which included traditional dances, traditional music performances, and martial arts.
Around 6.30 PM, before came to the Opening Ceremony, the participants and the guesses were invited to have a dinner and enjoy the performance of Mandarin Dance performed by interns of Chinese Language Center Universitas Negeri Malang.
Master Ceremony of Opening Gala Dinner UM iCamp 2019, Gloria and Dimas finally opened the event at 7.00 PM. The first session was singing Indonesia National Anthem. To expedite the event, all of the audiences had a pray together as well. The next session is Program Director report and welcoming speech by Mr. Nabhan F. Choiron. Based on the Program Director report, UM iCamp 2019 had 56 participants from 40 different countries and some sponsorship partners: Malang Regency Tourism Office, BNI Bank, BTN Bank, Banten Bank, BRI Bank, PT Terminal Petikemas, Ubud Hotel, Java Boutique Hotel, Le Mineral, Number Nine Convection, and MAKE OVER Makeup. Then, the welcoming speech was continued by vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Budi Eko Soetjipto. After the warm welcoming speech, symbolically and officially UM iCamp was opened with Gong-hitting by Vice Rector I. The next session was giving token of appreciation to sponsorship partners and photo session. After that, there was fashion show session by UM iCamp 2019 participants and Paduka UM.
Above all, came to the entertainment performances. The first performance was Saman Dance by Faculty of Education Students. Secondly, Angklung Performance, the committee invited the audiences to play Angklung together. Then, there were performances by: Nur Harias Martial Arts, Karawitan Performance by Nusantara Team.
The night was more joyful with Poco-Poco, Maumere, and Dangdut Flashmob by all of people that came to the event this night.
Finally, this Gala Dinner & Opening Ceremony was closed with the last performance of Malang Flower Carnival and taking picture of committees and participants. Last night, everyone had a much fun with new friends from many different countries.
