We are pleased to invite alumni and staff (academic and non-academic) of UM to apply for CSC Scholarship. CSC scholarship is a scholarship program offered by the Chinese Government under the Chinese Scholarship Council for international students worldwide. Scholarships are open for international students (Non-Chinese Citizens) to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in China. The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing has received information on the 2021 Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarship offer at Tianjin University. Tianjin University is the first modern higher education institution in China, and now a national university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of China.

Scholarship Coverage

  1. Tuition waiver and accommodation on campus;
  2. Monthly Living Allowance;
    3,000 RMB/month for Master students
    3,500 RMB/month for PhD students
  3. Comprehensive Medical Insurance.

Application

1. Qualifications

  1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;
  2. Requirements for applicants’ degree and age:
    Applicant applying for a Master degree should hold a Bachelor diploma and be under the age of 35 (born after 1983)
    Applicant applying for a PhD degree should hold a Master’s diploma and be under the age of 40 (born after 1978).

3. Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following application materials (in duplicate):

  1. Color 2-inch ID photo; prohibited to wear headgear; no border on white background; head occupies 2/3 of photo size; photo size is not less than 320 * 240 pixels; aspect ratio is 4: 3; size is 100-500K; JPG format.
  2. CSC application form;
  3. Original Notarized certificate of the Highest Diploma (in Chinese or English)
  4. Original Notarized certificate of the academic transcripts (in Chinese or English)
  5. A Study of Research Plan (in Chinese or English, < 800 words)
  6. Two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English)
  7. Photocopy of Passport ID Page
  8. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form
  9. Form of Provisional Acceptance of International Student by TJU Professor (not necessary)
  10. Language Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL/IELTS/ HSK 4 transcript).
  11. Self Introduction Video (in Chinese or English, 5-minute self-introduction)
  12. Applicant for art studies is required to submit two sketches of the applicant’s own works.

Note: Maximum size of the documents is 5 MB

4. Procedures

Applicants shall submit the application in both the Tianjin University Enrollment system and CSC Official system.

Step 1: CSC Online Registration
  1. Visit the following website: http://www.campuschina.org/. If the page is in Chinese  then click ‘English’ on the top right corner.
  2. Create an account and register on the CSC website by clicking ‘Create Account’ on the top right corner of the page. 
  3. Click ‘Scholarship Application for Students’. 
  4. Fill in the required data including username, email, passwords, and four digits verification code provided.
  5. Check your email and click on the confirmation link sent by the CSC Scholarship 2021. The link will take you to the sign-in page, and you must sign in using the account you have created.
  6. After successfully signed in, click the ‘Application Online’ on the top of the menu bar beside ‘Home’.
  7. Fill in your application by clicking the ‘Edit Personal Details’. The required information contains different sections (personal information, education and employment history and other contacts). Don’t forget to click verify and save after filling each section. 
  8. After you are done filling in the sections, please click ‘Finish’. 
  9. For the Application information, click Type B.
  10. Click ‘Add a New Application’ then fill in the form. 
  11. The Agency No. of Tianjin University is 10056
  12. Choose your preferred discipline and major offered by BIT as stated above. For more information on the study programmes offered by BIT, please visit: https://isc.bit.edu.cn/ or contact the following email: master_phd@bit.edu.cn 
  13. After filling the form, don’t forget to click ‘Verify and Save’.
  14. Upload all the required documents.
  15. After uploading all the documents, click ‘Submit’.
  16. After you have successfully provided all the information and required documents, click ‘Finish’.

  18. When you have finished the online registration, please download the CSC application form and take note of your CSC serial number.
Step 2: Tianjin University Online Registration
  1. Visit the following website https://tju.at0086.cn/ and click ‘create new account‘.
  2. Fill in your personal information (username, email, family name, given name, passport no., and  nationality), then click ‘next‘
  3. Check your email and copy the code number sent by Tianjin University to activate your account. 
  4. Create a password for your account, then click ‘next‘.
  5. After you get notified that you have registered successfully, click ‘login’ to open your account. 
  6. Click ‘CSC/CIS NO.‘ and fill in the information of your nationality, date of birth, and CSC/CIS Number.
  7. Click ‘start application‘ and fill in your information about your applied degree and major. 
  8. Fill in the ‘application information‘ section with the correct information (For section ‘Reference’, please contact the CP below and provide proof of your relation to UM (KTM/ Kartu Pegawai/ photo of diploma/transcript) to get the details: +62 821-3413-4620 or +62 877-0145-6798)
  9. Upload the required documents as stated above in the ‘documents‘ section.
  10. In the ‘more information‘ section, please upload your self-introduction video and fill in the additional information form. Don’t forget to click ‘save and continue‘
  11. You can check your application In the ‘preview’ section. If you are done, you can submit your application by clicking ‘submit‘. You can also download the application form by clicking the bottom button of the preview.
Step 3: Online Application Confirmation

(The data will be collected by OIA UM for the general purpose.)

Step 4: TJU Review and interview 

The date and form of the interview will be notified through the email of the TJU online system. Please check your email day by day. Applicants who fail to attend the interview are deemed to be giving up the application. The applicants will be emailed from March 16 to June 1, 2021.

Step 5: Result Release

Tianjin University will announce the admission result officially on the website, and post the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to scholarship winners from July 1 to July 31;
