Malang – Thursday, May 23rd, 2019, the second week of Darmasiswa Culture Class was successfully held by the Office of International Affairs. This was the second meeting of Darmasiswa Food Carving Class which held in the meeting room of the Office of International Affairs of Universitas Negeri Malang. The class was started at 09.00 a.m. by Ms. Wiwik Wahyuni, one of the lecturers from Department of Industrial Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Malang and attended by five international students.
The students were guided by Ms. Wahyuni and three other tutors to learn how to make food carving on vegetables. The tutors taught the student patiently to make ornaments from various kinds of vegetables, such as carrots, tomatoes, radishes, and chili. Before they did the practice, Ms. Wahyuni gave several examples of technique that could be used to make the ornaments.
After the explanation, the students tried to make various vegetables into decorations. Then, the practice ended with the arrangement of the ornaments that have been formed into two large fruit basket. The class was finished at 12.00 p.m. and closed with a photo session with the students.
