The Young SouthEast Asian Leadership Initiative (YSEALI) opens the application for the 2022 YSEALI Workshop: Guardians of Good Governance. This workshop is a fully-funded program, initiated by the US Embassy in the Philippines and Cultural Vistas, to promote civic participation, good governance, and transparency and accountability in government. If you are passionate about the civic education sector, this workshop is suitable for you.

Kelayakan:

  1. All applicants must be 18-35 years old
  2. Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English
  3. Applicants must be registered members of YSEALI*, and be citizens of Indonesia

The workshop will include pre-workshop virtual activities offering background on civic education theory, lifelong learning, and best practices in digital engagement strategies; a four-day workshop in Manila, Philippines; and post-workshop virtual engagement to support implementation of post-workshop activities.

  • Introduction

Introduction to practices and resources

  • Equitable Community Engagement Toolkit

Overview of the elements of Equitable Community Engagement Toolkit, introduction to case studies of civic education projects, and introduction to best practices 

  • Project-based Learning

Understanding of project-based learning to reach the communities and engage with stakeholders

  • Development for Campaigns

Developing digital education and engagement campaigns for civic education projects

Selection announcement: March 2022

Pre-workshop virtual programming: April – June 2022

Workshop in Manila: July 6 – 10, 2022

Post-workshop activities: July – November 2022
