Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) is proud to announce the arrival of two outstanding students from Chiang Rai Rajabhat University (CRRU) Thailand to participate in the SEA Teacher 2023 program. Their arrival marks a momentous event in international academic cooperation and extensive cultural exchanges between UM and CRRU.
SEA Teacher Program 2023: An International Initiatives to Enhance Education
The SEA Teacher 2023 program is an international initiative by SEAMEO to enhance understanding and skills in education, specifically teaching practice. Under this program, two CRRU students will spend approximately a month at UM teaching at UM Lab Elementary School, engaging with local students, and taking part in academic and social events.
CRRU Student Arrival: A Valuable Opportunity for the UM Academic Community
The SEA Teacher program aims to broaden UM’s international education network. UM warmly embraces CRRU students and looks forward to a mutually beneficial exchange. The arrival of CRRU students presents a valuable opportunity for UM faculty to share knowledge and experiences with colleagues abroad. Furthermore, it facilitates exposing local students to Thailand’s unique culture and education system.
Welcome of the two CRRU students at UM Lab Elementary Schoo
The UM Lab Elementary School authorities warmly welcomed two CRRU students on August 18th, 2023. Dr. Sopingi, S.Sos, M.Pd, the Head of the Center for Work Practice and Field Experience LPPP UM, facilitated a teaching practice for the students with the UM Lab Elementary School. Both students are from the English Language Education study program and will teach at the school until September 12th, 2023. In addition to teaching practice, they also participated in the commemoration ceremony for Indonesian independence at UM.

Both students agreed that the program for teaching English as a second language improves their learning experience and expands their understanding of overseas cultures. ”We are delighted”, they added.
