Welcoming Darmasiswa Students 2016: Cultural Experience Week
On 31 August 2016, Universitas Negeri Malang welcomed twelve Darmasiswa students that will learn Indonesian Culture and Language for one year of study. Those students are originated from Madagascar, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, and Vietnam. They arrived in Abdul Rahman Saleh Airport on 12:30pm and then having lunch together with the staff, before finally arrived in Universitas Negeri Malang on 15:00. Mr. I Wayan Dasna, as Vice Rector IV was welcoming and giving a short speech for the students. Then the students were arranged to stay in Wisma T.G.P.
On the following day, the students were having induction about Universitas Negeri Malang vicinity. Not only that, one of them, Ms. Pichthida Seangrat was also being selected to participate on Malang Art Week program held by Tourism and Cultural Department of Malang in Taman Krida, Malang. Nine of Yala Rajabhat University students who are currently being apprentice in Universitas Negeri Malang also performed a dance entitled “Paktai Banrau” together with Ms. Pichthida Seangrat.
On 4 September 2016, Ms. Pichthida Seangrat and Ms. Narinda Alee, both are Darmasiswa students, performed as models on Malang Flower Carnival in Jl. Simpang Balapan Malang. Both of them are interested in dance and performing art. They are glad for having those experiences in Indonesia. (*FDA)
