Malang – On Thursday (21/3), Office of International Affairs held the fourth meeting of the One Asia Lecture Series (OALS 2019). In this occasion the lecture took place in the AVA Hall of the Faculty of Letters UM E6 Building, 2nd Floor at 10:45 – 12:30 WIB. Today’s material is about “War and the Economy and its impact on the economy in Southeast Asia” delivered by Dr. Abdul Wahid, M. Hum, M. Phil from the history lecturer at the University of Gadjah Mada. He said that war must have an impact, causing damage, chaos, fear, and other humanitarian disasters. However, if it is viewed from a macroeconomic perspective it is not that bad. In some cases, war can be used as a checking system of existing social and political systems, over an old-fashioned system. So after the war, a country will be forced to work harder to improve the existing system.

After delivering the material, the event continued with a question and answer session. Many questions delivered from the participants, but Mr. Wahid still happily answered their questions in detail. But because the time has over, the event continued with the submission of a token of appreciation by the Staff of Office of International Affairs as a sign of gratitude and ended with a photo session.
