MoU Signing

Universitas Negeri Malang, November 2 2023. – On November 2 2023, Universitas Negeri Malang was hosted a historical event marking the signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), University of Cambodia (CU), and Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) Cambodia, followed by Joint Guest Lectures series that were held Hybrid, in Universitas Negeri Malang at the hall of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, B20 building, second floor.

This MoU signing events aims to strengthen the coorperation between universities, paving the way for student exchanges, joint research, and other academic collaboration between two different countries.

Following up of this MoU Signing, Universitas Negeri Malang also organized a series of Joint
Guest Lecture featuring leading professors and academics such as Prof Dr. Heri Pratikto, M.Si
from Universitas Negeri Malang, H.E. Artauli RMP Tobing from ASEAN-IPR, and Ms. Gina V.
Lopez MBA from The University of Cambodia. They shared their skills and knowledge in many
fields included education, culture, economy, and technology. All of the participants from students, lectures, and professionals took part in this event enthusiastically to broaden their understanding of these important topics.

Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Bafadal, M.Pd., as Vice Rector I Universitas Negeri Malang, expressed his enthusiasm towards this event. He said, “This cooperation reflects our commitment to promote
international understanding and academic excellence. Joint Guest Lectures give a unique platform for undergraduate students from Indonesia and Cambodia to exchange ideas, and enrich the academic landscape for all involved parties”.

Cambodia universities that participated, included Royal University of Phnom Penh and the
University of Cambodia, both renowned their contributions to education and research in Cambodia.

Ms. Gina V. Lopez, Dean of the School of Business of The University of Cambodia, expressed
her gratitude for the opportunity to be involved in this collaborative work. “This initiative serves
as a bridge between our countries, allowing us to share knowledge, experience, and cultural insight. Through this work, we are build a brighter future for our students and nation.”

The success of this event emphasizes the importance of international cooperation in higher
education and highlights the potential cross-border of college collaborative cooperation in the
future.
