MOU Signing Ceremony: UM and Private Islamic Schools Association of Songkla

Six represetatives from Private Islamic Schools Association of Songkla visited Universitas Negeri Malang on December 7, 2016. Nasroodin Kaji as the President of Private Islamic Schools Association of Songkla, Headmaster of Rungrote Wittaya School, and Chief of Quality Assurance of Rungrote Wittaya School along with another five Private Islamic Schools Association of Songkla top managements were welcomed by the top management of Universitas Negeri Malang.
During the dialogue, Mr. Nasroodin Kaji presented the association and challenges it faces. The association consists of 84 private schools. Mr. Nasroodin deplored, “There are only a small number of Southern Thailand people speak Malay although it was our national language. At the present, most of Thai people only speak Thai.” He expects that there will be a significant number of Indonesian teachers and students whom are willing to teach Indonesian to Thailand people.
Dr. AH. Rofi’uddin, M.Pd, rector of Universitas Negeri Malang, explaining that at the present time Universitas Negeri Malang has delegating 16 of its students to accomplish internship in Thailand and, vice versa, it is also possible for Thailand students to undertake it in Universitas Negeri Malang. Drs. I Wayan Dasna, M.Si., M.Ed., Ph.D was also giving a supplementary explaination that there were nine of Thailand students attending UM iCAMP and on the job training was possible for both parties. Mr. I Wayan Dasna was also expected in receiving a smooth communication regarding to current security issue in Thailand and appropriate time in assigning UM students to do internship in Thailand. The meeting was concluded in signing memorandum of Understanding between both parties.
